The Cicero Seventh-day Adventist Church welcomes all faiths in joining us in worshiping our great God. We are like many modern Christian churches with the same core beliefs, but with a few differences. One of these differences is quite obvious because we worship on the Sabbath (Saturday).
What Are Our Services Like?
Adventist churches vary in style like many Christian churches do. The Cicero SDA church may be viewed as the middle of the road between conservative and liberal when it comes to worship style. We sing a mixture of songs from the hymnal and a mix of contemporary songs. Music is accompanied by piano, organ, guitar or instruments such as the violin, etc. We do not use drum sets in the sanctuary.
Church service starts at 11:00 and usually ends around 12:30. We open with singing, welcome, a children's story, prayer and special music and then with a message from the pulpit. We have open communion every quarter.
We have 'Sabbath School' which is like many 'Sunday Schools' for adults and children. We have five lower divisions and two adult divisions:
Beginners (birth to thru age 3)
Kindergarden (4 to 1st grade)
Primary (2nd grade to 4th grade)
Juniors/Teens (5th - 8th grades)
Youth (9th to 12 grade)
Young Adult
Adult
The adult lessons are lead by designated teachers and each class studies a biblical topic each quarter. It is a discussion format and you can question, keep silent or express your opinion.
At least once a month with have a pitch-in lunch (potluck) in our fellowship hall. All are invited, especially visitors. All the food served is vegetarian with vegan options. This is a great time to talk and get to know each other.

What To Expect
A typical service will last about 90 minutes. We sing a good mix of contemporary and traditional music that is led by our worship team. There is childcare available and activities for all age groups. Plan to hang around after the service for fellowship and meeting new people.
